Course Summary:

This Distance Learning MSc highlights and explores the key issues around sustainability and the built environment. It covers both environmental and renewable energy issues at an advanced level.

A huge range of cultures and disciplines combine to create a vibrant online learning experience. The course is open to all: it includes architects looking to continue their professional development and other construction professionals wishing to enhance their vocational qualifications and many others interested in getting the edge in sustainability and the built environment.

Flexibility is the keynote: distance learning means you can study morning, noon or night, wherever you are in the world, whenever you make the time, fitting it round other commitments. The flexibility of the course itself allows you great freedom of choice in which topics you pursue in greater depth.

Sustainable buildings and their surroundings have been specialities of CAT, Europe’s leading Eco Centre, for 35 years. This internationally-minded Distance Learning MSc builds on that experience in exploring the relationships between people and their environment, with particular focus on the environmental impact of buildings.

The programme covers scientific, technical, social, and economic aspects of environmental and energy issues at both global and local levels. Innovative, high quality materials by experts – in print and online – provide a base of excellence. This, with the dedicated MSc website and supportive tuition among enthusiastic peers, makes for a lively, productive experience.

“ The tutors provide an intimacy to my engagement as a student with a level of academic support which is the envy of my sister doing a MA at another university. “
“ Student support: always very enthusiastic and willing to help in any way.”
“ The lectures are excellent, with plenty of interesting and useful links. This becomes apparent after further research and reading the lectures again: they are always a very up to date and informative analysis of the subject.”
